Family Discipleship

Welcome

Thanks for tuning into Redeemer Al Ain’s online service. Our church is currently meeting in person with restrictions on Thursdays from 6:30–7:30pm at the Al Ain Evangelical Church Centre. (For more information about the restrictions click here). As pastors, we also understand that different people have different circumstances and comfort levels for in-person gatherings. We do not want to pressure anyone to attend who would not feel comfortable. We will continue to post the service online so that people can participate digitally.

In this service Pastor John Norris is preaching our final sermon in our Discipleship in a Pandemic mini-series: Family Discipleship.

My Hope is Built on Nothing Less – Sovereign Grace Music

Bible Reading

4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Deuteronomy 6:4–9

Let Your Kingdom Come – Sovereign Grace

Lord I Need You – Matt Maher

Bible Reading

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 18:18–20

Sermon

Relational Discipleship

  2. Read Ephesians 2:11–22. In light of this passage, what impact does being part of a community have upon our daily Christian lives?

  3. Read Matthew 28:18–20. What does it look like to teach people to observe all that Jesus commands?

  4. Read Ephesians 4:11–16. What does it look like to speak the truth in love to one another?

  5. What are some ways during COVID-19 that you can engage in relational discipleship?

Never Cease to Praise – Grace Community Church

Behold Our God – Sovereign Grace

Bible Reading

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

Ephesians 6:10–20

Sermon

  3. Read John 15:5–8. What are the connections between “asking,” “glory,” and “bearing fruit” in verses 7 and 8?

  4. Practically, what does it mean to “pray at all times” like Ephesians 6:18 says we should?

  5. If someone is having a hard time reading their Bible regularly and praying, what advice or help could you give?
